Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Prince of Peace invites those who would like to learn more about the Catholic Faith to bring their questions and concerns to our weekly inquiry sessions.  Those interested in becoming Catholic are encouraged to become involved in the RCIA process (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).  In the weekly sessions (see schedule) of the RCIA, inquirers learn about the Catholic Church, its doctrine and sacraments, liturgy, prayer life and the apostolic works of the community.  Through prayer, study, scripture reflection, and discussion they explore their own spiritual life and journey to union with God through the help of the Catholic Tradition.

Under the direction of Msgr. Brovey, with the aid of Core Team members and parish sponsors, participants in the RCIA have the opportunity to enter the Catechumenate.  For the unbaptized, it provides an opportunity to progress to the three sacraments of initiation, Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.  Those who have been baptized in other faith traditions are given the opportunity and assistance to come to full communion with the members of the Catholic Church.
