On Sunday, May 25, the Church celebrates the Solemnity
of Corpus Christi to celebrate and reaffirm our belief in the Real Presence of
Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. In preparation for this great feast, the
Guild of St. Thomas Aquinas (Adoration Chapel Members) will gather to celebrate
Solemn Vespers at 7PM on Thursday, May 22, followed by the traditional
Perpetual adoration
“From
His fullness we have all received,
grace

Please prayerfully consider adoring weekly
for Sundays at 7AM. Always remember to check with your prayer partner, or get a

Please pray for: Katherine & Keith Brown, Bill Casey, George Curry, Marge Doran, Richard & Marie Elias, William & Ann Gibbs, Gerry Glacken, Nicholas Hapstack, Dorothy Hayes, Harriet Loftis, Harry Macchia, Mary Jane Masters, Clothilda McGrath, Lisa Roberts, and Beverly Ryan.
Isolation from our parish family by illness, advanced age or other circumstances, can lead to loneliness or depression. If you or a loved one will be hospitalized or is homebound, please let us know. Contact the office at 268-4352 and Deacon Gary will arrange to visit and bring Communion. It is important to let us know when someone is released from the hospital to ensure that we transition our contact with that person when they return home.
Reserved Pews for the Disabled
We kindly invite those who because of advanced age or physical impairment may need Holy Communion brought to them at Holy Mass by the priest or other minister to sit in one of the six front pews. These pews have been reserved so that those who may not be able to stand or kneel may still be able to see the altar and ambo without difficulty and to facilitate in the distribution of Holy Communion. The church has been designed so that wheelchairs may easily be positioned next to the front pews in the transept so that family members and friends may be seated right next to you. If for some reason someone is not able to walk down the nave to the front seats, an usher will gladly assist you or open the south transept door for you. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the parish office.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2
Thank You to
John Marigiliano
We wish to thank John Marigliano for all his efforts as Director of Adult and High School Catechesis over the past two years. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
School
News
“Dear Monsignor Brovey:
It
is my pleasure to share the good news with you that Prince of Peace School
ranks among the top 10% of schools in the nation in reading and math. Thanks to
your moral support and spiritual leadership we have another significant
indicator that Catholic education in
Your
principal, Dr. Michael Pennell, has seen to it that the students in your
highest grade, Grade 6, surpassed the “cutoff scores” in both reading and math.
These minimum scores are needed for Prince of Peace to be in the top 10% of
schools in the nation.
Your
contribution toward this latest snapshot in the album of Prince of Peace
success story is invaluable in so many ways that can never be quantified. There
are no “cutoff scores” measuring the many things you do, as well as for all
that you mean to Michael and the children and parents of the school. May God
continue to bless your life and ministry.”
Sincerely and gratefully, Sr. Julia M.
