Philosophy & Objectives
of the
Child Development Center (CDC)

It is our belief that young children have a broad capacity for learning.  It is also our belief that parents of children ages one through four seek a quality, nurturing, Christian environment for their preschoolers.

The Prince of Peace Child Development Center will offer a safe, cheerful and loving atmosphere for this first formal learning experience outside the home.  Daily hands-on activities coupled with a qualified caring staff will nurture the whole child -- spiritually, intellectually, morally, socially, emotionally and physically.

To fulfill the philosophy of the CDC as set forth above, we have established the following objectives for the Center:

To offer a curriculum in a Catholic environment for the children of God. (Students in K-3 and K-4 will attend a monthly prayer service)

To offer activities to increase language arts and math skills. (Students in K-3 and K-4 will begin elementary Spanish lessons)

To offer exercises to experiment with the arts and sciences.

To offer interaction with peers and other adults outside the family.

To offer opportunities to work through emotions in a healthy manner .

To offer activities to develop a positive self-image.

To offer opportunities to increase gross and fine motor skills. (Students in K-3 and K-4 will experiment with Creative Movement)
